St. Andrew's Episcopal Church

St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, organized during 1867, constructed its first building --- a simple board-and-batten frame structure on pilings --- at the intersection of Court Avenue and Eighth Street during 1869. The building occupied the most southeasterly single lot in the southeast quarter of the city square east-side block, but the parish expanded its holdings prior to 1900 to include the entire east half of that block's Court Avenue frontage.
